The Art of Engagement, Part II

Have you heard that engagement is an art? Maybe not, because I think I coined that- smile!  Truly, to effectively engage with others is a balance between an art and science; it is a balance between theory and practice and a balance between understanding ourselves and intentionally interacting with others.  I believe that it is important to understand who we are to be able to show up as Ethical Social Workers and it is important to embrace and enjoy conversations like these, which present refreshing reminders about this topic. So I invite you to come and lean in to this conversation with me and I look forward to us engaging with each other!

Learning Objectives:

1. Reiterate the importance of knowing our values and consider how they influence our engagement with others

2. Engage in a fun/interactive discussion about the importance of knowing who we are

3. Discuss how we successfully meet people where we are through a brief discussion about the style of Motivational Interviewing.
