Our first presenter: 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. 90 min

Rhonda Edwards is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Manager in the Cancer Support Center for CHI Memorial. She is certified in Mind Body Medicine through the Center for Mind Body Medicine in Washington D.C. Stress Management, relaxation and self-care are areas of focus for Rhonda as she works with oncology patients. She will share her expertise in self care as it applies to professional social work.

Terrie E. Ruff, LMSW is the Social Worker at Senior Care Behavioral Health-Starr Regional Medical Center in Etowah.  Terrie is also a Field Instructor for local SW Programs.  Terrie is active in her local church, enjoys singing, public speaking and bargain shopping!  Her goal is to be a beneficial presence in the lives of all she meets!

·      To gain a better understanding of the importance and necessity for self-care as a professional social worker.

·      To reinforce daily practice of self-care strategies.


Our second presenter topic is The Ethics of Self-Care

·      To understand the importance of Self-Care personally and professionally and have a Self-Care Plan in place in order to avoid Burn-out/Compassion Fatigue.
