Join the Network for Social Work Management (NSWM) and Richard Kennedy, Associate
Director at the Tennesee Commission for Children and Youth, for an informative, engaging,
and practical workshop to learn how you and your organization can use proven, evidence-based
communication strategies to move the needle on the issues you care about. If you attended last
year’s lunch and learn on Frameworks, join us as we refresh and go deeper in this extended 3
hour training with additional opportunities to practice using Frameworks tools. However, no
prior Frameworks knowledge is needed to attend.
Understanding the underlying structure of political narratives – and how to work with them – is
an essential capacity for every leader interested in change. Julie Sweetland with FrameWorks
Institute states, “American political rhetoric is defined by a small set of highly familiar
narratives that define and confine what we can accomplish politically and socially.” These
narratives are replayed constantly and often told in their most extreme forms. In turn, language
and imagery shape reality, including the way the public thinks about the people and
communities that nonprofits serve.
