Presentation Title: Trauma

Presenter:  Charles Winton Jr., LMFT

Has over 18 years of experience in counseling, Charles received his B.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Memphis in 1998. It was there he developed his passion for working in the Criminal Justice field in order to impact the lives of those trapped in the criminal justice system, to offer them hope and opportunity for a better life with focus on Hope, Healing and Restoration. While in college, Mr. Winton volunteered for the Juvenile Court as an Auxiliary Probation Officer, where he went into the homes of families and seen the disparity and the hopelessness and offered to the court solutions of restoration that were both beneficial to both the child and parents. In addition, Charles received his Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University in 2014, Mr. Winton is currently the Trauma Therapist at Delta Medical Center. Charles also works in private practice at MERCI Counseling Center and Sage Hill Counseling.  Charles holds extensive experience in working with married couples, families, individuals and adolescents. He is skilled with working with individuals with mental health issues, substance abuse, marriage and family issues. Charles has a special experience in working with Juveniles adolescents; particular those from broken families, homes and communities. Charles’ specialty is working with trauma individuals. Charles is a certified EMDR trained trauma therapist.
