NASW TN Chapter Board Committees

 NASW-TN has a tremendous group of members who provide leadership for Chapter Committees. Members are invited to email Karen Franklin, NASW-TN Executive Director, at kfranklin@naswtn.com for more information and opportunities to become involved in any of the Chapter committees.

Chapter Committee on Nominations and Leadership Identification - Identifies leadership within the NASW membership and prepares Chapter's annual election ballot. This committee is elected by the membership and also selects the winners of the Chapter's annual awards.

Continuing Education Committee -Identifies professional training needs and works with the Chapter's staff to implement quality workshops and training events.

Ethics Committee - Promotes ethical social work practice including conducting the peer review process regarding violations of the NASW Code of Ethics.

Finance - Makes recommendations regarding the fiscal policies and practices of the association and assists the Board of Directors in ensuring that adequate resources are available to meet current and emerging needs.

Membership Committee - This committee reviews current membership outreach efforts and develops a and implements a strategic plan for increasing membership recruitment, retention and involvement. 

Legislative Committee - Develops and prioritizes NASW-TN's Legislative Agenda. Works with lobbyist and Chapter staff to mobilize membership on key public policy issues.

Social Work Day on the Hill Planning Committee - Plans and assists staff with the implementation of the Chapter's largest event, Social Work Day on the Hill.. This committee helps mobilize University and professional participation as well provides on-site assistance during the conference.

TN-PACE - Oversees the political action activities of the Chapter including endorsement of candidates and disbursement of funds raised by PACE. Develops strategies to increase involvement of social workers in the political process.
